The
13 th Biennial General meeting and the 16 th Scientific
meeting of APEC April 20-22, 2011 in Shiraz, Iran .
By
changing the venue from Kish Island to Shiraz, all participants will have the
opportunity to visit the center of the great Persian Empire, the poetical
capital of two of the greatest poets of the world Saadi
and Hafez, and the city of the great philosopher Sadr'ol moteallehin
Mollasadra Shirazi. The meeting will take place in conjunction with the 14
th annual congress of the Iranian Association of Endodontists in
Shiraz, Iran.
The main objective of APEC
is to provide its members with good Quality meetings and to provide social
events to cultivate and foster close professional relationships between members
in the Asian Pacific Region. The theme of the 16 th scientific
meeting is "Access to success in Endodontics in the Asian Pacific region ",
which includes the provision of good speakers, interesting topics and covering
broad areas of endodontic sciences and practical subjects. The local organizing
committee works to advance the endodontic sciences by providing learning
experiences through well known lecturers, covering main topics, discussing
interesting cases and new development in endodontics. In this meeting we will
maintain our usual format of a session devoting to a series of presentations
from our council or representatives.
We will
organize a workshop for the member representative of endodontic societies to
discuss the need to improve the quality of standards; this concept will
certainly aid the society's objective of promoting the study and practice of
endodontics in the Asia Pacific Region. This is only possible because of the
help and support of council members.
I
must express my deepest gratitude to all in advance. In particular, Prof.
Hideaki SUDA (Japan) and Prof. Sung Kyo Kim (Korea) for their support
and advice. Dr. Seung Tae Kim (Australia), Treasurer and secretary, for his
responsibility of maintaining the finances and running of the APEC with all its
attendant correspondence. Dr Ralph Reid, Editor-in-chief of AEJ, for enhancing
the status of the society affiliated to it throughout the world and the
Australian Dental Association for sponsoring our Website: http://www.ada.org.au/Societies/APEC/. and
also Dr Phillippe O Zimet for his work to update APEC events. I am also grateful
to the local organizing committee chair, Dr Fariborz Moazami, for working hard
